The Life Safety Analysis is an intense review of the entire facility to
determine what if any situations would have a negative impact on human
life, or a propensity for injury, in the event of an emergency condition
or during day today operations. This analysis starts with the physical
structure and it’s features of life safety. The occupancy classification
is then reviewed for inherent hazards. A physical inspection of the
facility and the conditions within the building determines the storage,
handling, use and treatment of materials and processes that could
increase the likelihood of an incident occurring. Operational features
and processes along with operational procedures often reveal conditions
that may require attention. The analysis often reveals a series of
activities or conditions that are documented in a written report along
with accompanying recommendations for action to alter or abate these
situations. The type and size of the facility often determine the length
of time required as well as the potential cost factors. These factors
can then be weighed against the negative costs of incidents or
injuries. |
